Oh yes, Obagi!

I recently got my Obagi kit from the Sculpting Center of New Orleans and the results are remarkable. It's an incredible skincare regimen that battles aging on various levels, from skin discoloration to wrinkles to saggy skin!

Since I work on TV, I have tried out so many beauty products, I don't even know where to start. But it's remarkable to me how much money I have spent -- and how often the products -- just don't work.

Well, you won't get that with Obagi. This anti-aging routine is powerful. Skin discoloration on my upper lip (had a little browning) disappeared. My skin just felt fresh and clear after using it! I used to get a few zits a month. Since I started using Obagi three months ago, I barely break out. It's incredible how clear my skin is!

 

As I said though, this stuff is potent -- so make sure you moisturize, moisturize, moisturize. The Obagi kit will accommodate. It comes with a special moisturizer (and a sunscreen if you're heading outdoors). But I threw on some extra coconut oil or Aquaphor on at night to really make sure my skin was hydrated with the Obagi concoctions! 

I am impressed with what I am seeing so far, but again,  this stuff is strong ! Use smaller amounts in the beginning and then you can up your usage if necessary. Depending on your skin type, you may want to use every other day to or a couple times a week. But prepare for a revitalization and transformation of your skin! Jane Iredale, you make me feel like a natural woman

The Circle\Delete®Concealer is exceptional. Not only does it smell wonderful (it's like something from a garden -- and if you investigate more, you'll learn that Jane Iredale loves experimenting with botany), but it comes with two colors, mine was a redder color and a beige color. You can apply with a brush or your finger... start with the darker color then follow it up with the lighter color. Waking up at 3 AM every morning, this product has been an absolute miracle worker. It would be my favorite product from the line... but...

The PurePressed® Eye Shadow and PurePressed® Blush blew me away the most!!! I chose Bone, Oyster (lighter) Double Espresso & Dusk (darker) for eye shadow, and Mystique & Dubonnet for blush, but so many great colors, such amazing variety again! I have tried luxurious to the cheapest of the cheap -- always trying to find the right colors that go on well with eye shadows and blushes! My jaw literally dropped when I applied the Jane Iredale blush and eye shadow. They went on so well, using a very small amount of the product. I usually have to grind my brush into the blush or eye shadow container, but I dabbed my brushes to get an idea of how well it went on when I used the Jane Iredale products -- and my goodness. It's so pigmented. It's amazing! These will go a long way!! I am absolutely in love with them. In the provided selfies I have used the following:..

Another fun product from the company: the Mystikol® Powdered Eyeliner! I don't know about you, but I have so much trouble getting that eyeliner just right with gel, pencil, liquid -- trying this option was super fun and it's MUCH easier to apply. Another go to in the future!

Usually I am the wild colors girl when it comes to make up -- you'll see me wearing bright blue lipstick with rainbow-colored eye shadow, but Jane Iredale's products made me fall back in love with an all-natural look. Their colors are earthy -- bright, but soft colors, you'd find in a flowery meadow while picking berries. Rich browns and reds that are classy, not flashy.

With Jane Iredale make up -- I didn't feel like I had to cover up all the flaws on my face and hide my insecurities. I felt like I was embracing my being, accentuating what the Good Lord gave me! I am really happy I gave the makeup line a try, even if you're a experimental and risque #mua, you'll find yourself falling in love with this secret garden of miraculous make up.

There's countless makeup options out there. Cheap ones, expensive ones -- but how many are actually any good? That apply well, provide significant coverage, while still allowing your skin to feel natural and fresh?

I mean -- let's be real -- that's incredibly hard to come by, but Jane Iredale has created products that are truly a makeup lover's dream!

The face lotions (BB creams, primer, etc), foundations and powder all feel great on the skin. I don't feel like my face is suffocating, they all leave you feeling and looking fresh!

The Liquids Minerals A Foundation offers a variety of colors so you can find a perfect match for your skin color!  Forget about cake-face, this foundation is light-weight, leaving your skin looking natural, vibrant! I felt like I was glowing!!

If you're on the go, the Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream is  a Godsend. So easy to apply and as the website touts it "covers blemishes, minimizes the appearance of pores, disguises wrinkles and smoothes and brightens skin."

I usually stay away from powdered anything. Powders sink right into the wrinkles (ugh, hate that)! But the PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation went on so nicely. I have oily skin too -- so a powder foundation that doesn't expose every crinkle or crevice and covers up the shine -- I am all in!

The Smooth Affair® Facial Primer & Brightener also moisturizes and allows that make up to stay on well, another great product that will help you appear more youthful, minimizing fine lines.

Charlotte Tilbury: 'Give a woman the right makeup and she can conquer the world.'

When you work in TV, you use make up from so many different companies that they all really start to blend together. But when I got my Charlotte Tilbury package, I truly was blown away. 

Her aptly titled Magic Foundation works wonders. It didn't feel like cake face or pasty and thick, but it provided significant coverage and my skin just looked smooth and soft.  It's perfect for on-air. We need to look flawless, but you want to feel like your skin can actually breathe!

This foundation also touts it's ability to "treat and transform your skin, especially if you struggle with melasma, acne, rosacea."  My face looked like porcelain, it covered up blemishes and skin discoloration very well. Definitely my favorite Charlotte Tilbury product.

If you want a foundation that's lighter that still provides full coverage, check out her Light Wonder foundation. The best part about this foundation though, is that it has anti-aging benefits, minimizes your pores and is very hydrating.

I use this one when I am not on air, it's very moisturizing and comfortable. Another great product. I like Light Wonder when I want a more casual look, I use Magic Foundation when I want to look more done up.

Charlotte Tilbury's lipstick collection is out of this world. She has so many incredible colors, from matte to gloss. I received the Hel's Bells "deep berry matte lipstick." I mean -- the color is to die for. It goes with so many outfits. I can make it look sexy and chic or fun and playful!

You can also alter the looks of the lipsticks by matching them with their lip glosses.  They have some deep colors if you like a darker, sexier, smooth look --  and also lighter colors if you just want a shimmer or sparkle! I was a big fan of Blondie, which I have used with light pinks and dark pinks -- it gives my lips a gold, glimmer. 

This rich, magical magenta-mulberry is inspired by the quintessentially British style of Helena Bonham-Carter, completing her dreamy-gothic, eclectic look.

I also really liked Charlotte Tilbury's  Unisex Healthy Glow Tinted Moisturizer (I used it in the photo above). The description calls it "summer-in-a-bottle all year round" that will "bring your tired skin to life."  It reminded me of a BB Cream -- light, comfortable coverage. Would also be great for guys -- it's not cakey or powdery like make up at all -- just a nice, fresh cover up to even out your skin tone and give you a nice glow! If I am not in the mood to wear make up and I am doing something in the evening or night, I am going straight for this moisturizer.

My favorite part about this brand though is that it provides make up for all types of women. They have photos of women from various backgrounds in their foundation, lipstick, blush -- whatever -- so you can really picture how it would look on you. I am half-Asian, so ordering make up online can be really scary -- I feel like I never know what I am going to get! But I looked at some of the photos of girls who looked similar to me and I got a great idea of what would be a good fit.

This make up line is high-quality and fun. It's also going beyond coverage, thinking about the health of your skin, providing anti-aging and acne-fighting options.

It's more expensive, without question, but after using it, I would definitely say 100% worth it. 

Also another awesome company, that's pushing confidence and self-love. So now -- I am ready to conquer the world ;)

Blue in Pinkblush

What a gorgeous find! This blue dress from Pinkblush is one of my favorites, hands down. I got so many compliment about the detailed neckline. It is well-made and intricate and you just feel fancy when you have it on!

You could easily wear this on a picnic, a walk around the park -- just throw on some sandals. Or you could wear it to work, it can definitely be dressed up with some nice jewelry and heels. I wore it to the museum for a date and I couldn't have felt prettier!

Craving Kismet Cosmetics

Kismet Cosmetics is my go-to make up now. Forget Mac, Sephora -- whatever -- I love their products. Their lipstick collections are absurdly awesome, the colors are beautiful and last. They've got liquid lipstick , semi-matte lipstick, glosses, lip kits and more! Their lip products also smell lovely and don't have a chalky taste, which I appreciate!

Hot pinks, sultry reds, demure nudes: whether you want something for work, something casual, something fierce -- they have the color.  The company touts their variety, aiming to provide their clients with a variety of looks for any occasion!

Now to the "Build Your Own" Primp Velvet Lip Kit.  This is a fantastic gift. Great deal. It's 40 bucks and (as suggested in the title) you build it yourself. My kit came with the Buff Sugar-Lip Scrub, Hydrogel Lip Mask, Edge Lip Liner Mini and your choice of a Velvet Semi-Matte Lipstick. It's a great value, fun and man -- I am out in the sun all the time playing volleyball. I really take my lips for granted. My lips felt great after using the scrub and mask! 

Let's not forget about their mascara. I have short stubby eyelashes. I usually wear fake ones and absolutely hate mascaras, but I was literally in shock when I tried out Kismet Cosmetics mascara. My eye lashes looked fuller, bolder and they were actually curling, without a curler. The mascara liquid really had an impact on my awful lashes, I have never used a better mascara. Period. The brush was nice too, separating my lashes nicely. Another plus, the liquid also helps with lash growth...I mean, c'mon! Can this get any better? 

The bronzing lotion is also a great addition for any skincare/makeup lover. It doesn't smell weird, doesn't look weird, it comes off the hands easily. I have some awful tan lines since I play sand volleyball frequently, and while the lotion didn't make my lines disappear, they really helped minimize them. It made my skin glow and glitter! I really like this product -- and since I am out in the sun all the time. It's a must have for a quick tan lines cover up!

Talking about glitter and glow -- the illuminator options are gorgeous. They have Goldie, Rosy & Toasty options. They all make you sparkle! I actually use them as a primer for my eye shadow too, it sharpens my brow  line and gives my eye make up a glamorous look. Like any highlighter, it helps accentuate the cheek bones! Great colors that can give your 'night out on the town' look an extra umph or dress up your casual look if you just want to wear BB cream and mascara. 

And dude -- don't even get me started on their eyeliner. Finding the right eyeliner is such a pain. But this goes on smoothly, the color is dark and the brush is comfortable and easy to use. I am thrilled that they came out with this product and that it's so good. Let's be honest, you can find decent lipstick anywhere, but finding a solid eyeliner is tough. Well, I found it. Love. it.

I have been using Kismet Cosmetics for roughly a month now and have been so impressed by everything I have used so far. As I said in the beginning of the article, they're my go-to makeup company now -- and I'm craving more Kismet Cosmetics!

Sufficient-C is more than sufficient!

Fall is here. And you know what that means? The cool, comfortable air moves in, the color of the leaves start to change -- and people get sick! That's right, people start falling ill! And ain't nobody got time for that (especially not me, I got things to do)!

Sadly, I have been feeling under the weather since late last week. Tired, little feverish, sniffle -there was no better time to try out Suffcient-C! 

I'm one of those weird people who loves healthy foods and drinks packed with nutrients-- and you don't have to be a registered dietician to know that Vitamin C can help with cold recovery! So, I started downing their Lemon Peach Immune-Ade. 

So I have tried so many vitamin drinks-- I can't even start to list off the brands-- and let's be honest. They don't always taste great, they just have a vitamin taste to them. Since I workout a lot and I like taking vitamins (I know, like I said weirdo), they don't really bother me. But I still can pick up that earthy, herbal flavor. 

With Suffcient-C though, this Immune-Ade is tasty, so right away I'm thinking, ok they've covered up the vitamin taste with sugar. But then when I looked at the ingredients I saw that the mix is stevia-sweetened (ask any nutritionist, stevia-- natural plant-based sweeteners-- are all the rage). 

So naturally sweetened, packed with nutrients (2000 my of Vitamin C per scoop, plus L-lysine, Bromelain and a 94% pure green tea extract) and easy to make (just use the scooper inside the jar and add to water). For me, this was awesome. It tasted great for a vitamin drink (and lemonade in general) and boosts the immune system! 

I think it was a great way for me to get fluids and vitamin C in my system while I was sick and I think I'll definitely use it just for hydration during the workday and after workouts. Sufficient-C is more than sufficient to me!
